Corroborum and Consensus
Already use Consensus? Here is how we differ.
Both connect a paper search to your AI assistant. These are the differences we can back up, where Consensus does more today, and what Corroborum does not do.
What Corroborum gives you
- Price per search. $0.008–$0.015 per search on our paid plans at full use, against $0.022–$0.040 per MCP use on Consensus’s paid plans (consensus.app/pricing, read 13 October 2026).
- Retraction flags on every hit. Retracted papers are returned flagged, never silently dropped.
- Citation snowballing as a tool. Your assistant can walk references and citing papers itself with expand_citations.
- Your queries are not stored. We keep usage counts, not the text of what you search.
Where Consensus does more
- Search filters for study design, human studies, sample size and journal quality. We do not offer these yet.
What Corroborum does not do
- Answer synthesis. Corroborum returns papers; your assistant writes the answer.
- Full text reading. Corroborum ranks from titles, abstracts and metadata. Hits link to free full text when one exists; Corroborum itself does not read it.
We have not run a head-to-head relevance comparison, so we make no claim about which ranks better.
